MacDonald Pass Grooming Schedule

MacDonald Pass Nordic trails open December 1 (conditions permitting) and are located approximately 1/2 mile east of the MacDonald Pass Summit on US Hwy 12, about 12 miles west of Helena. Please park considerately and do not block gate/access to Frontier Town.

The Club 'farms' the sometimes scant snowfall by almost daily passes of a variety of grooming equipment. For this reason, winter-time access to these trails is reserved for cross country skiers. While we all love dogs, and while many of us enjoy snowshoeing, please reserve these trails for skiing and keep your dogs and snowshoes off the trails. There are great places, just across the road on the south side of the Pass, for winter-time outings with dogs or on snowshoes. There is a large parking area on the north side of the highway.
